SLJ Polluted rivers

Kia ora. I've been doing some SLJ. For this activity, I had to find 3 polluted rivers and describe them.
Here is my Week 2 Day 5 Activity 2:
3 polluted rivers:
1. Tarawera River (Bay of Plenty)
2. Waikato river (Waikato)
3. Tukituki River (Hawke's Bay)
Blog ya later!

  1. Hi there Claire,

My name is Toe'umu, and I go to Wesley Intermediate. I like how you have said the polluted rivers. Have you visited any of these rivers before? This reminds me of when I wrote a letter to Michael wood, I wrote how we can clear the polluted rivers. Maybe next time you could describe the rivers.

    Blog you later,
    Toe'umu

  2. Fakalofa lahi atu Claire,

Well done on providing the names and locations for three polluted rivers in Aotearoa (you only needed to find two by the way). I think next time, it would be great if you add a little more information about each river and even some pictures. For example, you could find out and share what is polluting each of the rivers.

A friendly reminder; remember that the activity asks you to talk about what is being done to clean up the rivers. Have you read anything about cleaning up the rivers? I will be happy to reward you full points for this activity once you have found some info and added it to your post. You've got this! Choose two of the rivers to research.

Thinking about these polluted rivers reminds me of how polluted lots of our beaches are. Waikowhai Bay is located near my home, I like to take the Dog there for a walk and a little splash around. I've read that it is safe to swim in, but I don't often see people swimming there. It is a little disheartening sometimes...

I look forward to reading your edited post.

    Toe feiloa'i fo'i,

    Cia.
