Summer Learning Journey

I have been doing the Summer Learning Journey(SLJ) program. SLJ helps you in the holidays so that you don't get the Summer slide. The Summer slide is when your work all goes down instead of up(you lose some of your knowledge that you gained during school time and when you come back to school after the holidays, you get worse instead of better).
Here is my Week 1 Day 1 Activity 1:

3 facts about New Zealand

  1. New Zealand has another name in Maori which is Aotearoa meaning ‘The land of the long white cloud’
  2. At the moment, Queen Elizabeth ll is the Queen of New Zealand who lives in London.
  3. New Zealand is one of the least populated countries in the world.

  1. Kia Orana Claire,

Cia here from the Summer Learning Journey Ako Hiko team.

I can see that you've read the information carefully because you have paraphrased (written the facts in your own words), well done. Next time it would be great if you elaborate a little bit more on the facts that you shared.
For example, if New Zealand is one of the least populated countries in the world, what are the other small countries have a small population like us?

My favourite fact about our nation is the fact that we were the first country to give women the right to vote and it was Kate Sheppard who led that movement. We are such an amazing nation. Some countries still struggle with equal rights!

You've gotten off to a good start Claire, keep working hard.

    Toe feiloa'i fo'i,

    Cia.

Thank you for commenting on my blog!
I will try to put some more info in my facts.
Kate Sheppard was very brave, she's even on our $10 note!
      Thx,
      Claire
