SLJ Goodbye!😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒

Hello! Sadly, this is my last Summer Learning Journey post! I've completed all the activities and won't be able to do it next year😭. For this activity, I had to complete some sentences about what I thought of SLJ.
Here is my Week 4 Day 5 Activity 3:
What is one thing that you learned from participating in the Summer Learning Journey program this year?
In this program, I learned that there is such thing as acid rain.
What is one thing that surprised you?
I was surprised that people can wear recyclable items.
What is one thing that concerned or upset you?
That there are only 4 weeks of SLJ
What is one thing that you (or your family) can do, moving forward, to help protect our natural environment?
My family and I can help the environment by stop using plastic!
SLJ
What was your favorite activity?
My favorite activity is the Great Barrier Reef fundraising activity, it's really fun to come up with different ideas.

Thank you SLJ team! I really enjoyed SLJ, it was a new experience to me and it was also really fun!πŸ‘
I really wish that it would last a bit longer.
Thank you SLJ team, you did a great job putting this together!
Blog ya later!

    2. Kia ora Claire,

I'm so happy you enjoyed it; the Great Barrier Reef activity was one of my favourites too, because I like that it encourages people to think about what they can do to help our environment.

Congratulations again on finishing, and have a great holiday!

  2. Kia Ora Claire,

My name is Rachel and I am working with Hazel, Cia and Megan on the Summer Learning Journey programme this year. It is wonderful to see that you enjoyed the SLJ this year and learned a lot about things, including the fact that acid rain is an environmental issue that we can all learn more about. I have also enjoyed working on the SLJ this year because I, too, have learned new things over the past four weeks. I hope that you will continue to share your learning with us over the summer. Feel free to post comments on the blogs of other students who are still working their way through the programme. You can earn 2 extra points for every high quality comment that you post. A high quality comment is at least three sentences long and includes a reference to a specific detail that you really liked in the blog. This could be something that surprised you, interested you, confused you, worried you etc. You can also post a question if you'd like to know more about what the author of the blog post was saying.

Hope to see you online over the next few weeks, if you are able to find time to post comments.

Until then, have a wonderful and relaxing holiday!

    Bye for now,
    Rachel :)

  3. Hello Claire,
It's your sister o_o It is very sad that this is your very last blog post for SLJ. I have seen all your blog posts on SLJ, and they are very well quality. Maybe next time you do something similar, you could make it more good looking, not so straight forward. you could have made a slide show showing some things you did in SLJ.
Keep up the good work, Alodia

  4. Kia ora Claire,

I am so excited to see that you have completed all 60 Summer Learning Journey (SLJ) activities. You have put in so much time and energy into sharing your learning with us. I am so proud of the effort you have put into the programme over the last 4 weeks. I am also sad that there are only 4 weeks worth of activities because I would love to see more of your work. However, you do not have to finish there, you could go and encourage your friends and other SLJ participants by posting comments about their work. You can find all the SLJ participants on the Ako Hiko website here: http://www.akohiko.org/home/blogging.

I think you have identified a great way for you and your whanau to help protect our planet. Reducing the amount of plastic is something we have tried to do in our family. Our household has succeeded in not using single-use plastic bags, however, it is amazing at how many other products are wrapped in plastic. We must take one step at a time and maybe in a years time our house will be completely plastic free.

I would love to know what your favourite activity was to complete on the SLJ? What did you learn through this activity?

Once again, well done Claire, on the finishing the SLJ. We are so proud of the effort you have been putting in. I am looking forward to seeing your comments, encouraging other students.

    Kindest regards,
    Megan :)
